What programs are offered?
The School of Fine Arts at Grenfell offers a four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in theatre. We have two streams, Acting and Technical Theatre Production. Small class sizes make for a very good student/teacher ratio and hands on learning. Two main stage productions per term beginning in second year. Complete creative control of your own project in fourth year.
The Acting stream offers training in voice and speech, scene study, text analysis, acting technique, monologue/audition preparation and the business of theatre.
The Tech stream offers training in Stage
Management, Stage Carpentry, Drafting, Lighting, Sound, Scenic Painting, Props and
Wardrobe.

In your final term you will spend eight weeks at our sister campus just outside London England, where you will take Master classes from actors and technicians working in London's West End Theatres, see some of the finest theatre in the world, explore London, Stratford Upon Avon and Europe.

What kinds of classes can I take?
Two lecture courses taking a comprehensive look at the history of theatre
from the Greeks to contemporary theatre.
Training in voice, speech,
movement, scene study, clown, text analysis, improv, and acting techniques.
Training in all aspects of technical theatre including, stage carpentry, lighting,
sound, prop building, wardrobe, stage management and scenic painting.
Two
productions each semester providing experiential learning in your field of study.
Exploring the collaboration and the interpretive and imagistic processes of
directors and designers.
Did you know?
Future goals are to hire a full time faculty member specializing in equity, diversity and
inclusion in theatre and in drama therapy.
