ROSS CREEK SCHOLARSHIP

Nominate a student to receive $500 towards enrolment in the Theatre Arts Academy at Ross Creek Centre for the Arts in the Annapolis Valley!

A bit about the Theatre Arts Academy:

TEEN ARTS ACADEMIES: AUG 1–13 Our Teen Arts Academy is a two-week immersive arts program (in Theatre, Visual Arts, Film, Choreography, Writing, or Music) providing professional direction and focus to help teens realize their inner artist. An exceptional faculty works closely with each student, stressing skill development and individual growth while encouraging collaboration and creative thinking.

The goal of the Academy is to provide students 14– 18 years old with an intensive hands-on experience in the arts in an environment that emphasizes creativity and innovation while using constructive critiques by professional artist mentors to assist in artistic growth.

A bit about the scholarship:

The scholarship will be awarded to individuals who demonstrate the desire to develop their acting skills, the curiosity to learn more about the medium, and exceptional potential as a performer with a desire to pursue it after high school.

The scholarship will be presented to one individual who has participated in the NS High School Drama Fest or another regional drama program, or who otherwise has shown a commitment to the art form. The recipients will be announced at the Nova Scotia High School Drama Fest in collaboration with Theatre Nova Scotia.

The only absolute qualifier is that by the Academy Dates (August 2021) the nominated individual must be between the ages of 14-18.

The scholarship is for $500 towards the student’s enrollment in the Theatre Academy (August 1-13, 2021), which has a total cost of $1,100+HST. We do not want there to be any financial barriers preventing any student from attending and teachers should know that there are additional bursaries, scholarships, and payment plans available to make the program accessible to whoever receives the scholarship.
